Nossi College & Goodpasture Form Partnership
Madison neighbors Nossi College of Art and Goodpasture Christian School are planning partnerships in the new year, likely to begin in the fall semester of 2010.
The new 55,000-square-foot building that Nossi is constructing on nearly 10 acres is just behind Goodpasture.
“They have some state-of-the-art facilities, and we hope we can use some of their technology for our upper level art students. And, we think we have some facilities they can utilize,’’ Goodpasture president Ricky Perry said.
Nossi would be willing to advise Goodpasture students interested in art and design-related subjects and careers as well. It would be possible to travel by foot between the campuses, Perry said. Goodpasture’s might also make our renovated 1,200-seat auditorium available to Nossi for bigger events, such as graduations or displays.
Nossi
won’t build an auditorium at its new facility because it would have
limited use and graduations have traditionally been held at another
location, executive director Cyrus Vatandoost said. The
new building will be one level. Computer labs would be central inside,
with various departments occupying different wings of the building.
The building plan will also incorporate some green space that will be available to
Goodpasture for various activities.
“I’m sure we will think of other ways to collaborate. The most important thing is that both of us are open to ideas and that’s exciting,’’ Vatandoost said.
Nossi purchased the property in 2007, Vatandoost, said. “It seems like a great fit, and we’re excited to be near Goodpasture.’’
