Tennessee's Middle School Principal of the Year - Dr. Dana Finch

Dr. Dana Finch, Goodpasture Middle School Principal, was named "Middle School Principal of the Year" on Friday February 8, 2008, by the Tennessee Association of Secondary School Principals. Congratulations to Dr. Finch on receiving such an honor. The Goodpasture family thanks Dr. Finch not only for the outstanding job she continues to do for our young people, but also for being an outstanding Christian example for all of the Goodpasture family.

Aaron Gillaspie joins Harding Bisons

Aaron Gillaspie, flanked by his parents and Coach David Martin, signs a letter-in-aid to continue his college career at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. Aaron, during his career as a linebacker, established school records for first hit tackles for a single game with 24, a single season with 149, and a career with 337. Congratulations to an outstanding and very deserving young man.

Six Cougars Named All-Region in Football

Congratulations to six members of the 2008 football team for being named to the All-Region 5AA team. The players honored were: Seniors Wilson Emebunor, Aaron Gillaspie, Tracy Mayes, Michael Rogan, Andrew Rushing, and Junior Benjamin Cunningham.

Teacher Appreciation Week Help Requested

2008 Teacher Appreciation Week is HERE!!! Beginning Monday, February 11th thru Friday, February 15th, GCS teachers will be treated to a wonderful week! The theme for this week is "The Heart of a Teacher," and has been planned wonderfully by Rhonda Gibbs! Throughout the week, our teachers will be treated to a breakfast, snacks, cards, gifts, and a "heartwarming" luncheon on Friday! Of course, we hope you will all send a personal note or expression of thanks to your individual teachers during the week! But we need YOU to help us in this effort!

Kristine Keith & Riley Bowers Make All-State

  

Congratulations to Kristine Keith & Riley Bowers who passed their second and final audition to achieve highest honors in high school vocal music. They were selected to perform with the Tennessee All-State Choir at the Tennessee Music Educator's Convention on April 19, 2008 in the new Schermerhorn Symphony Hall downtown.

GMS Students Make Honors Choir

Two Goodpasture Middle School students, Zack Machon and Colton Sweet auditioned and were selected to sing with the Middle Tennessee Honors Choir. Congratulations boys!

Laura Lamberth signs to play soccer at MTSU

Senior Laura Lamberth, shown with parents Mr. & Mrs. Barry Lamberth and coach Brian Ayer and High School principal Lindsey Judd, signed to continue her career on the college level with MTSU. Laura, a 2-sport standout (Soccer & Basketball) at Goodpasture, became the first Lady Cougar soccer player to earn a college scholarship. Congratulations to an outstanding young lady!
