Welcome to the Sports Round-Up

We at Goodpasture are in a continuous process of finding the best way to serve your needs. One of the areas that this page will strive to address is how to keep all interested parties up-to-date with sports around the Goodpasture campus.

This blog will be updated at least 3 times a week. It will contain sports scores, individual acheivments, district standings - all the news that's fit! The best part is that it will be syndicated; meaning, you can subscribe to it via a RSS feed.

Girls 7th and 8th grade Soccer Meeting

There will be a meeting for all girls interested in 7th and 8th grade Girls Soccer at 3:15 on Monday (8/17) in Mrs. Krantz's room.

2009 All-Midstate Track Team

Benjamin Cunningham who was a dominant football player, has been awarded first team on the All-Midstate Track team. He ran a state's best 10.6 in the 100 meter dash earlier in the year that stood up for the entire track season.

Volleyball tryouts

Volleyball tryouts for 7th and 8th grade will be Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00-3:00 in the high school gym.

Basketball Tryouts

Basketball tryouts for Boys in grades 8-11 will be Thursday at 11:00.

Lady Cougars advance to State Tournament

The Goodpasture Lady Cougars will try to make it 7 in a row as state champs as they advanced out of the State Sectional into the State Tournament by defeating Sequatchie County 6-1. During this game, two Lady Cougars hit HR's, Cartwright and Leding. The Lady Cougars will next take on Covington (34-2) in the first round of the state tournament.

The Cougar Baseball Team advances to the State

The boys baseball team are ready to defend their back to back state titiles. The Cougars defeated Marion County 7 to 3 Friday in the State Sectional game to advance to the state tournament at the Spring Fling in Murfreesboro. The team plays tomorrow at Blackman at 6:30 against Dyer County in the first round of the state tournament.

Boys Basketball Tryouts

The Boys Basketball Tryouts for grades 8-11 will be Thursday and Friday at 11:00.

Cougars Advance to Sectionals

The baseball team defeated DCA 23 to 16 yesterday. Cody Lane tied a school record with 6 hits with 6 at bats and 9 rbi's. Weston Wolfe hit a HR. The team rallied from behind 4 different occations in the 3 hour marathon. The Cougar baseball team will host Marion County at Cougar Field at 2:00 for the State Sectional game. The winner will advance to the State Tournament.

Baseball Sectional Game

The Cougar Baseball team will host Marion County this Friday May 15th at 2:00 at Cougar Field. The cost of admission is $6.00 per the TSSAA. No student passes will be accepted. Everyone is required to pay. Please come out and support our baseball team as it trys to defend it's state championship. The winner will advance into the state tournament which will begin Monday May 18th at Smyrna and Blackman high schools.
